TTI’s Industrial Hygiene Division is seeking a full-time AST for the New Jersey region. Residents in PA, DE, and nearby areas are encouraged to apply as well.
This position involves travel throughout New Jersey – mainly working out of clients’ sites or TTI’s office.
Responsibilities
- Perform air monitoring and contractor oversight during asbestos abatement projects
- Inspection and on-site monitoring for asbestos, mold, lead paint and indoor air quality
- Conduct detailed surveys for asbestos, lead based paint, right to know, and mold
- Maintain, operate, and calibrate a variety of sampling and monitoring equipment
- Technical report writing and interpretation of analytical data
- Assignments are of varying complexity and under direction of a project manager
- Timeliness, time management, ability to meet deadlines, and responsiveness to emergencies is vital
Qualifications
- New Jersey Asbestos Safety Technician Certification required
- Required education: High School Diploma, mechanical/trade school and/or college degree preferred
- Current EPA/AHERA building inspector accreditation preferred
- Lead licenses preferred
Requirements
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience
- Willingness to work limited weekends and second shift
- Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills
- Independent thinking and self-motivation are essential
- Must be able to carry up to 30 lbs. of equipment and use ladders
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of general building mechanical systems and building construction
- Willingness to learn, complete training, and obtain various certifications
- Must have valid driver’s license and ability to successfully pass a pre-employment screening and physical
- Must be a US citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Job Type: Full Time
Shift: Day and evening hours with occasional weekend work.
Compensation: $25–$30 per hour. Pay is commensurate with experience, education, and current certifications.
