#EARTHWEEK2023 TTI acknowledges the balance between the need for economic growth and protecting the environment for future generations. TTI’s Robert Russell, Project Manager in the Environmental Consulting Division (North Jersey/NYC Metro region), joined New Jersey Society of Women Environmental Professionals and Raritan Headwaters Association for a stream cleanup on Saturday, April 15th. The volunteers pulled out anything from small beer bottles to tires to water skiing boarhttps://www.raritanheadwaters.org/ds. This year’s event marked the 33rd annual effort to help clean and safeguard these waters for over 300,000 watershed residents and those living downstream who depend on water from rivers and reservoirs.
TTI is excited and proud to plant a series of new saplings at our HQ in #Moorestown, NJ, in support of the #ChestnutTree restoration program. The The American Chestnut Foundation was founded in 1983, and their work recognizes the severe impact the demise of the American chestnut tree imposed upon economies of communities and ecology of forests within the tree’s native range. Their work in research, biotechnology, bio-control and restoration points to a future where the American Chestnut can continuously and sustainably evolve to re-assume its former ecological role. Their goal is to reestablish the American chestnut’s function in its native range. Partnerships are necessary across a variety of public and private entities along with volunteers and donors. We thank Austin Falciani, Environmental Consulting Project Scientist, for spearheaded the project, involving both TACF and help from his Villanova University graduate course professor. Doing our part for EarthDay2023! TTI’s Environmental Consulting Division Director Kristin Heimburger, LSRP coordinated with Rich Corbin of #MoorestownPublicWorks to do a trash clean up of #WesleyBishopPark and fields on Friday, April 21. We appreciate all of Rich’s help in setting us up with supplies and direction. The Environmental Consulting Team were all on hand for this project, happy to put in the efforts for this valuable space for the community, and cleaned up more that 95 gallons of trash (13 cu ft) from the grounds.
