We are happy to announce that Matt Cruz had completed certification as a Steel Tank Institute (STI) SP001 Inspector. STI certification is required for inspecting shop-fabricated aboveground tanks, portable containers and small field-erected tanks. Matt also has experience in multiple NDT testing methods including Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant Testing, Ultrasonic Thickness Testing, and multiple Eddy Current techniques.
STI’s SP001 “Standard for the Inspection of Aboveground Storage Tanks” is the most widely used inspection standard and is an important component of EPA’s Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Program. It covers the inspection of shop-fabricated steel tanks and containers built to a nationally recognized standard for above ground storage of non-corrosive, stable, combustible and flammable liquids.
