Asbestos Project Manager – North Jersey/NYC

This is an on-site position – working out of TTI’s office and clients’ sites. We are seeking NYSDOL licensed applicants for the position of Asbestos Project Monitor. Work will be throughout NJ, NY State, and the five boroughs of NYC.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Overseeing asbestos remediation projects for numerous clients
    • Managing a variety of projects to ensure scope and schedules are met
    • Performing various fieldwork tasks, such as calibrate and operate air sample and personnel exposure equipment, perform mathematical calculations, obtain media, collect relevant data, submit samples for laboratory analysis, observe field conditions, and document events
    • Preparing project-related paperwork and documentation

Requirements:

    • Valid active NY DOL Asbestos Project Monitor/ Air Sampling Technician Certificate
    • 3+ years of related work experience (preferably in the role of Industrial Hygiene Technician and/or Senior Industrial Hygiene Consultant)
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to successfully pass a pre-employment screening and physical
    • The ability to travel, work in the field, work outdoors, and lift 50 lbs.
    • A plus: Associate or BS in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Biology, Chemistry, Public Health, Environmental Science, or related field

IH Senior Technician/Asst. Project Manager – North Jersey/NYC

TTI’s Industrial Hygiene Division services clients in the NJ/NY/PA and extended regions. This position offers great potential for career growth.This is an on-site position – working in the field at client’s sites and work from home (WFH) opportunity. Visits to headquarter office only as/if needed.

Job Skills/Qualifications

    • Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
    • Independent thinking and self-motivation are essential
    • Knowledge of general building mechanical systems and building construction
    • High School Diploma, mechanical/trade school, college degree
    • Asbestos and lead licenses a bonus
    • Must be able to carry up to 30 lbs. of equipment and use ladders
    • Minimum years of experience: 3

Responsibilities

    • Assignments are of varying complexity, responsible for data collection, field investigation, sampling and reporting
    • Inspection and on‐site monitoring for asbestos, mold, lead paint and indoor air quality
    • Maintain, operate and calibrate a variety of sampling and monitoring equipment
    • Produce detailed surveys requiring excellent note taking
    • Interpretation of analytical data and technical report writing
    • Timeliness, time management, meeting deadlines and responsiveness to emergencies is vital
    • Complete all projects within the established schedules and budgets
    • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while working independently and with team members
    • Some travel required
    • Must be willing to work limited weekends and second shift

    • Expected to pass a reference check, medical screening, drug testing
    • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
    • Exceptional safety and quality awareness
    • US citizenship or legal resident status
    • Willingness to learn, be trained and work in fast-paced environment

    • Required education: High School Diploma, mechanical/trade school,Associate or B.S college degree preferred
    • Must be able to carry up to 30 lbs. of equipment and use ladders
    • Minimum years of experience: 1-3
    • Mechanical, HVAC, or related experience
    • Computer skills required: proficiency in Microsoft Office software
    • Knowledge of general building mechanical systems and building construction
    • Willingness to learn, be trained and obtain various certifications
    • Some travel required
    • Must be willing to work limited weekends and second shift
