TTI’s Construction & Contracting Division delivers turnkey aviation fuel system solutions for Municipal and Regional Airports and federal aviation clients, including the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), United States Air Force (USAF), United States Air National Guard (USANG), and Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR).
Our teams build and upgrade fuel system infrastructure in active airfield environments, from single-tank GA fuel farms to multi-tank fuel fields, hydrant systems, and distribution piping. By combining airport fuel farm construction experience with federal aviation and environmental compliance expertise, TTI helps owners maintain safe, reliable fueling operations with minimal disruption.
CORE SERVICES
- New fuel farm and fuel system construction (AST/UST) including foundations, containment and associated civil work
- Fuel tank installation, replacement, and removal, including associated product piping and appurtenances
- Upgrades to existing fuel storage and delivery systems (piping reconfiguration, controls, monitoring, and safety systems)
- Integrity inspections, tightness testing, and condition assessments for tanks, lines, and hydrant systems
- Repairs, rehabilitation, and retrofit of aging tanks, sumps, containment structures, and dispenser islands
TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
- AST/UST system selection, layout, and piping design assist, including pump and control system integration
- Construction phasing and work sequencing to maintain airfield operations and fueling availability
- Containment and drainage design assistance, including sumps, spill control, and secondary containment provisions
- Coordination with fuel quality, filtration, and metering systems to support reliable Jet-A and AvGas delivery
COMPLIANCE, SAFETY & REGULATORY SUPPORT
- Support for permitting and approvals related to fuel storage and delivery systems, including AST/UST and airport hydrant system requirements
- Construction and documentation practices aligned with applicable FAA, EPA, and state environmental and fire code requirements for tank systems and hydrant infrastructure
- Integration with Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans and other facility environmental programs
PROJECT DELIVERY & EXPERIENCE
- Design-assist, bid-build, and design-build delivery for aviation fuel system projects
- Experience with Municipal and Regional Airport owners, airport authorities, and federal clients (FAA, USAF, USANG, NAVAIR) on capital projects, task orders, and on-call construction contracts
- Proven performance executing work in secure, mission-critical and airfield environments with strict safety, scheduling, and access constraints
- Experienced working on active airfields while keeping fueling operations online and safe
