RIGHT TO KNOW SURVEY: Public employers in New Jersey must submit the annual Right to Know Survey (RTK) by July 15, 2025. It is recommended to complete the survey process before May to avoid delays. This requirement applies to all public workplaces, including government offices, schools, hospitals, and facilities handling hazardous substances. Manufacturing plants, laboratories, and other workplaces with potential chemical hazards must also comply. Failure to comply may result in a $1,000 penalty per facility. The New Jersey Worker and Community Right to Know Act ensures workplace safety and community awareness through this annual reporting.

LEAD IN WATER TESTING: New Jersey schools must take action to ensure safe drinking water for students and staff. As part of the state’s ongoing commitment to public health, all school entities are required to complete lead testing in drinking water during the 2024-2025 school year. Deadline for sampling & analysis is June 30, 2025.
This requirement applies to:
* Public school districts
* Charter & Renaissance schools
* Jointure & Educational Services Commissions
* Approved private schools for students with disabilities
* State-funded early childcare facilities (Head Start, contracted childcare)
* Receiving schools (per N.J.A.C. 6A:14-7.1(a))
